What is FSC and Why is it Important?
FSC (Forest Stewardship Council®) is an international non-governmental organization that sets standards for responsible forest management. Having an FSC certificate confirms that the product is made from wood or cardboard sourced from legal, environmentally and socially responsible sources.
For businesses that use food packaging, this is particularly important, as end consumers and retail chains are increasingly paying attention to the environmental footprint of products.
How Did StudioPack Obtain FSC Certification?
Obtaining FSC certification is not a formality but a serious multi-level process. StudioPack spent more than six months preparing for the audit, which was conducted by the accredited certification body TÜV NORD CERT GmbH (Germany).
The main stages of certification included:
- Analysis of the supply chain and raw material origin,
- Implementation of the FSC Mix and FSC Recycled tracking system,
- Preparation of documentation in accordance with the standards FSC-STD-40-004 V3-1 and FSC-STD-50-001 V2-1,
- Audit of production and logistics processes,
- Staff training on FSC policies.
As a result of the audit, the company received a certificate granting the right to manufacture, purchase, and sell cardboard packaging (including FSC Mix and FSC Recycled) under a transfer system of supply chain control.
What Does the FSC Certificate Mean for StudioPack’s Partners?
FSC certification strengthens StudioPack’s position in both domestic and international markets. In particular:
- Retail and FMCG companies can meet their own sustainability policies by purchasing packaging made from FSC-certified materials,
- HoReCa networks receive confirmation of the environmental friendliness of the products used, enhancing their reputation in the eyes of consumers,
- Prepared food manufacturers reduce the risk of non-compliance with European regulations when exporting,
- National and regional packaging distributors can offer certified products to their clients in EU countries.
Compliance with EU Requirements and Global Procurement Policies
For entering European markets, FSC certification is not just a competitive advantage but often a basic requirement for participating in tenders. With this certificate, StudioPack confirms full compliance with European environmental standards, guarantees the legal origin of raw materials for food packaging, and is a reliable partner for companies implementing ESG policies.
The FSC certificate TUEV-COC-002047 is valid until 2029. Its validity can be verified on the official FSC website. Certificates of conformity can be downloaded from our website: certificate in English and Ukrainian.
Obtaining the FSC certificate by StudioPack is a logical step in the development of sustainable food packaging production. It demonstrates a responsible approach to resource use, transparency in the production chain, and high standards in working with partners. Thanks to FSC certification, StudioPack is entering EU markets with even greater confidence, offering reliable and environmentally safe solutions for the food industry.
